I try to be as self-sufficient as possible and grow and use organic food for health. No herbicides, pesticides, fungicides or other toxic chemicals are used on my property.

The following are some of the things I do to improve my health:

  1. I drink at least 64 ounces (8 eight ounce glasses) of water each day. (Unless most people are fully hydrated it is impossible to tell if they are hungry or thirsty, so they overeat. This is considered to be a major cause of obesity). I drink two 8 ounce glasses first thing each morning and 2 glasses 15 to 20 minutes before meals.
  2. I avoid all coffee and sodas. (Caffeine dehydrates).
  3. I replaced my table salt (sodium chloride) with seasalt containing about 80 trace minerals. Also, I use kelp, seaweed, and herb powders for seasoning.
  4. I avoid junk and highly processed foods. I replace them with unprocessed whole foods without chemical additives.
  5. I eat as much organic raw (live) food as possible: vegetables, fruit, sprouted nuts and seeds, etc.  Sprouting is easy.
  6. I replaced white sugar with raw honey, date sugar, stevia, blackstrap molasses, etc.
  7. I replaced white flour with wholegrain flour.
  8. I eliminated homogenized, hydrogenated and hardened fats and oils and replaced them with cold pressed sunflower, safflower and olive oils.
  9. I avoid dairy and wheat products as much as possible. I replaced wheat with spelt or kamut grains. I use raw goat's milk and raw goat's milk cheese in place of cow's milk and cheese and I use only fresh organic free range eggs.
  10. I replaced processed dry cereals with cooked brown rice, oatmeal, granola or multigrain cereals.
  11. I am a vegetarian because most meat contains growth hormones, pesticides, antibiotics and other harmful substances.
  12. I try to get at least 8 hours of sleep each night.
  13. I exercise for at least one half hour 3 to 4 times a week.
  14. I own a juicer and try to juice fast one day a week on raw vegetable, sprout and fruit juices. I do not water fast.
WARNING - My regimen works for me, but if anyone else wishes to adopt any of my practices you should consult your physician before doing so. Juice fasting can be a problem for diabetics or pregnant women as fruit juices and several vegetable juices such as beet and carrot have a high sugar content.
